Hermes Vehicle Turnaround by Jake192 Hermes Vehicle Turnaround by Jake192
so this is our most recent project in Character and Object Design. point was to do a modern twist on a greek god and then to give them a vehicle that goes with the character. i chose hermes, the messenger of the gods and also the god of commerce, money, sheep and of thieves. he was also the fastest of the gods, said to wear magical shoes with wings to make him fly.

and so, since i made Hermes into a mailman, every good mailman needs a mail truck. am i right or am i right?

the only difficulty i came across when designing and making the truck were A] the character is very round and cartoony, and i dont feel that i represented that in the vehicle. and B] i had to use a perspective grid, which i havent done in about a year. took about 4 tries but i finally got it perfectly. so yea, that truck is in perfect perspective. boo. ya. =]

and in case youre wondering, the texts read 'I Delivered it Last Night' and 'It'll be There Soon', as well as 'Quicky' as his license plate =]

where's the exhaust pipe? I think its pretty good granted cars aren't the easiest thing to draw. You did a good job for not using a perspective grid for like a year, and I think you also did well in representing that the character you made Hermes into. If you can't tell, the car is kinda fat and chubby in a sense and you kinda made Hermes into a small, chubby, sqeamish looking character. Thats how the car seems too.
But all in all nice job!!
